Age Calculator

Find your exact age in years, months and days, plus total days, weeks and the countdown to your next birthday.

How exact age is calculated

The calculator counts full years first, then full months, then the remaining days. When the day of the month has not been reached yet, it borrows the length of the previous month, so the result matches how people normally state their age.

Born on 29 February?

In years without a 29 February, the countdown uses 28 February as the birthday. Legal rules about leap day birthdays differ between countries, so check the local rule for official purposes.

Age rules that catch people out

Many applications ask for your age “as on” a cut off date rather than today. A candidate born on 15 March 2004 is 21 years old on 1 January 2026 but 22 on 1 April 2026, which can decide whether they are eligible. Set the second date to the cut off to check.

Some systems count age differently. In parts of East Asia a traditional age system starts at one at birth, and some legal rules count a person as reaching an age the day before their birthday. For official documents, follow the rule stated by the organisation asking.

When planning a celebration, the total days figure is handy: 10,000 days is just over 27 years and 4 months, a fun milestone that most people never notice. Total weeks is useful for tracking a baby’s age in the first year, when doctors and parents often count in weeks rather than months.
