Social Media Image Resizer
Resize photos for Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube and Pinterest with one click. Fill and crop, or fit with a background.
Your files never leave your device. Privacy
Every network crops pictures differently, and an image that looks perfect on one can lose a head or a headline on another. Pick the platform and format here and your photo is resized to the recommended dimensions in a second, in batches if you like.

When to use it
Instagram feed and stories
Make portrait 1080 by 1350 posts and 1080 by 1920 stories that are not cropped unexpectedly.
YouTube thumbnails
Turn a screenshot or photo into a 1280 by 720 thumbnail in the 16:9 shape YouTube expects.
Profile banners
Prepare X headers and LinkedIn banners at the wide shapes those sites use.
Pinterest pins
Tall 2:3 pins at 1000 by 1500 take up more space in the feed.
Recommended sizes we use
Instagram square post 1080 x 1080, portrait post 1080 x 1350, story or reel 1080 x 1920. Facebook post 1200 x 630 and cover 1640 x 624. X post 1600 x 900 and header 1500 x 500. LinkedIn post 1200 x 627 and banner 1584 x 396. YouTube thumbnail 1280 x 720. Pinterest pin 1000 x 1500.
Networks change their layouts from time to time, so keep important text and faces away from the very edges of the image.
Fill and crop or fit with background?
Fill and crop looks best when your subject is in the middle of the photo. Fit with background is safer for logos, flyers and screenshots, where cutting anything off would remove information.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best image size for Instagram?
For feed posts, 1080 by 1350 pixels (4:5) takes up the most space in the feed. Square posts are 1080 by 1080 and stories or reels are 1080 by 1920.
What size is a YouTube thumbnail?
1280 by 720 pixels, which is a 16:9 shape. YouTube also asks that thumbnails stay under 2 MB, which a JPG at this size easily does.
Why is my photo cut off?
Fill and crop trims the edges to fit the new shape. Switch to Fit with background to keep the whole picture.
Can I resize several photos at once?
Yes, up to 20 images per batch, all using the same size and fit mode.
Are my photos uploaded to the networks?
No. This tool only prepares the files on your device. You upload them to the social network yourself.
Which format should I download?
JPG for photos, PNG for graphics with text or logos. Both are accepted by every major network.
